To help, we have created some FAQs to act as a quick beginner’s guide to CBD. What is CBD  Cannabidiol, or CBD is one of many compounds derived from the hemp plant that provides a range of health benefits. However, unlike traditional cannabis, it does not contain Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from which the user would derive their ‘high’,  which is why products like CBD oil provide a gentle calming effect on the mind and body and the reason it is growing in popularity! Is it legal? YES, It’s legal to use CBD in the UK as long as it is sold in line with the guidelines and regulations set out by UK Law.  How does CBD Work? CBD oil works by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a network of receptors found throughout the body that regulate various functions, including pain, mood, energy metabolism, sleep, memory, appetite and much more. When CBD is introduced into the body, it’s thought to bind to these receptors and interact with them in a way that helps to regulate these functions. Getting started with CBDThere are many different types of CBD products available from Prym Health, including Oils, Patches, Edibles and capsules. All of these products can contain CBD, but the amount of CBD in them can vary. Finding the optimal dose, along with the method of ingestion for you may take a bit of trial and error, which is why we are offering an easy way to get started. Can you take CBD oil with HRT patches?

Can you take CBD oil with HRT patches

If you’re a menopausal woman in the UK, you may be considering hormone replacement therapy (HRT) patches to manage your symptoms. You might also be exploring natural remedies like CBD because you’ve heard about the potential benefits, and you’re wondering, “Can you take CBD oil with HRT patches?”. It’s a crucial question, especially if you’re already using hormone replacement therapy (HRT) patches to manage symptoms like hot flashes or mood swings.  At Prym Health, we want to support our customers to make informed decisions when taking CBD. So, let’s explore the interactions between CBD oil and hormones like estrogen and progesterone. What is CBD Oil? You’ve likely heard about CBD oil, especially since it’s legal in the UK for products with less than 0.2% THC. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its more famous cousin, THC, CBD doesn’t get you high. Instead, it’s gaining attention for its potential health benefits, from reducing anxiety to easing chronic pain. CBD oil has many benefits for menopausal symptoms as well, including improving bone healing, improving sleep, and relieving aches and pains.  Several studies have highlighted these potential benefits. For instance, a 2015 study found that CBD could be a promising treatment for various forms of anxiety, such as anxiety disorder, panic disorders, social anxiety disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another study in 2018 found that CBD helped 15 out of 18 trials (83%) with chronic pain management. Types of CBD Oil CBD oil comes in various forms, each with unique features. The most common types you’ll find in the UK are: CBD oil can also be found in different forms, such as topicals, gummies, and suppositories.  What are HRT Patches? While CBD oil has its merits, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) patches are a popular option that many menopausal women consider to manage their symptoms. HRT patches are adhesive patches that release hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, that are absorbed into your bloodstream. These hormones then act much like the ones your body naturally produces, helping to regulate everything from your mood to your body temperature. HRT patches are primarily used to treat symptoms of menopause, such as HRT patches offer a way to ease these symptoms by replenishing the hormones that your body is no longer producing in sufficient amounts. They’re especially popular because they provide a steady release of hormones, unlike pills that can cause levels to spike and dip. The benefits of using HRT patches go beyond just symptom relief. A 2019 study found that HRT significantly improved the quality of life for postmenopausal women. They’re also known for helping you sleep better, improving your mood, and even boosting your energy levels.  CBD Oil vs. HRT Patches for Menopause Symptoms We can see that both CBD oil and HRT patches have their benefits for menopausal symptoms, like relieving anxiety, improving sleep, and helping with pain. But when you compare the two, which is better suited for your symptoms?  Criteria CBD Oil HRT Patches Legal Status in the UK Legal if it contains less than 0.2% THC or no THC at all. Prescription medication, legal. Common Uses Pain relief, anxiety reduction. Hot flushes, night sweats, hormone balance. Types Available Full-spectrum, Broad-Spectrum, CBD Isolate. Oestrogen-only patches, Combined patches. Dosage Varies. If you are a beginner when using CBD oil, start low and slow. Varies. Consult your GP or pharmacist. Interactions Can interact with various medications, including hormones. May interact with other medications; consult GP or pharmacist. Risks Interaction with other medications. Increased risk of certain cancers, blood clots. Consult a Doctor? Yes, for personalised advice. Yes, for personalised advice. Can You Take CBD Oil with HRT Patches? Now that we’ve covered the basics of both CBD oil and HRT patches, the big question remains: Is it safe to combine the two?  The Interaction Between CBD and Hormones One of the main concerns about using CBD oil and HRT patches together is the potential for interactions. While the research is still in its early stages, some studies suggest that CBD can influence the endocrine system, which is responsible for hormone production.  A study produced by the Journal of Clinical Medicine suggests that CBD can interact with a variety of medications, including hormonal treatments. However, the specifics of this interaction are not yet fully understood. Therefore, it’s always best to consult your GP for personalised advice. What Experts Say A 2022 survey found that nearly 80% of those surveyed who experienced menopause used cannabis-based products to ease symptoms, highlighting the growing interest in alternative treatments. Dr Jennifer Lincoln, an OB-GYN and author, emphasised in an interview with TODAY that more research is needed on using cannabis, including CBD, for menopausal symptoms. The lack of research makes it difficult to provide definitive advice, highlighting the need for caution.  Benefits of Combining CBD and HRT While there’s no substantial scientific evidence yet, some anecdotal reports suggest that using CBD along with HRT can offer additional benefits like enhanced pain relief or mood improvement. Risks and Precautions Both CBD oil and HRT patches have their own recommended dosages, and mixing them may require adjustments. CBD and hormones are processed by the liver. Combining them could affect how your body metabolises these substances, leading to potential interactions. The NHS warns against using CBD oil with other medications without consulting a GP or pharmacist.  The key takeaway here is the importance of consulting your GP and staying updated with the latest research. Combining CBD oil and HRT patches is a decision that should be made carefully and based on sound medical advice. Next Steps: Start your CBD Journey  By now, you should have a clearer idea of the complexities involved in combining CBD oil with HRT patches. While both have their unique sets of benefits, it’s crucial to understand how they might interact with each other.  The bottom line remains: always consult your GP or pharmacist for personalised advice, especially when considering combining different forms of medication or supplements. At Prym Health, we believe our premium CBD oils can ease you into your menopause journey. Once you’re ready to start, take a look at Prym Health’s extensive range. If you’re not ready

How Long Does CBD Last?

How Long Does CBD Last

As a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, CBD in the UK is often used by individuals seeking to improve their well-being without experiencing the high associated with THC. But how long does CBD last? When considering incorporating CBD into your routine, it’s important to understand how long its effects last and how this varies so you can find the best product for your needs.  The duration of CBD’s effects can depend on several factors, including the type of product you use, your metabolism and the dosage. Generally, the effects of CBD should last anywhere from 4-8 hours, depending on the person and the method of consumption. However, CBD can remain in your system for varying amounts of time, from as little as 30 minutes up to 2 days or more, depending on the product and your unique biochemistry. Key Takeaways Factors Affecting CBD Duration The length of time CBD remains effective in your body depends on factors such as the method of consumption, your metabolism, and BMI. Keep in mind that the effects of CBD are generally felt for 4-8 hours, with some methods allowing for longer durations. Always remember to use CBD products as directed and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or questions. Determining the Right Dosage Finding the right dosage of CBD is crucial to ensure its efficacy and duration. The ideal dosage varies widely among individuals, as metabolism, body weight, and overall health all influence how your body responds to CBD. It is recommended to start with a low dose and gradually increase it until you find the optimal amount that works for you. Monitoring your intake and observing its effects on your body will help you understand how long CBD lasts for you. Our CBD oil strength guide explains how you can calculate the best CBD dosage for your weight, age and other factors, which can help with extending the duration of CBD oil effects. Quality and Shelf Life of CBD CBD oil’s quality, freshness, and shelf life impact its duration in the body. High-quality products use pure ingredients, contain minimal contaminants, and often last longer. To maintain the optimal quality of your CBD oil, store it properly in a cool, dark, and dry place. This reduces the risk of degradation, which can shorten the duration of its effects. Additionally, checking the product’s expiration date and ensuring it is within the appropriate range is crucial for the longevity and effectiveness of your CBD oil. Method of Consumption The method of consumption plays a significant role in determining how long the effects of CBD last in your body. Different methods have unique absorption rates, which directly impact the duration. When you consume CBD orally, such as in the form of CBD gummies, capsules or oil, it has to pass through your digestive system. This process can take a bit longer, causing the effects to last between 4-6 hours. In contrast, using a CBD patch allows the substance to be absorbed directly into your bloodstream, offering longer-lasting effects between 24-48 hours.  Types of CBD Products If you’re concerned about how long CBD lasts, you should consider a CBD product that suits the duration you want to feel the benefits of taking CBD. To help you better understand these options, you can use these guidelines on how long you can expect to feel the benefits of taking CBD oil, CBD edibles, and topical CBD products. CBD Oils and Tinctures CBD oils and tinctures are popular choices for those looking to benefit from the therapeutic properties of CBD. These products are typically oil-based and are available in various concentrations. CBD oils can be consumed by placing a few drops under your tongue or even by adding them to your food or drinks. When it comes to CBD oil drops, options range from full-spectrum to broad-spectrum and CBD isolate, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.  Individuals usually start to feel the benefits of taking CBD Oil within about 15 minutes, however, this may vary depending on your tolerance, dosage and metabolism. CBD Edibles If you prefer a more enjoyable and discreet way to consume CBD, CBD edibles might be the ideal choice for you. This category includes various edible products infused with CBD, such as CBD gummies, chocolates, and even beverages. CBD edibles are not only tasty, but they also offer a predictable and consistent dosing method. Keep in mind, however, that CBD edibles usually take longer to take effect than other forms of CBD, as they need to pass through your digestive system before entering your bloodstream.  CBD edibles can take up to 1-2 hours to kick in, as it takes longer for your system to digest them than taking CBD oil directly. Topical CBD Products Topical CBD products, like creams, lotions, and balms, are designed to be applied directly to your skin. They are commonly used to alleviate localised aches, pains, and inflammation or to address specific skin conditions. CBD topicals come in various forms, such as CBD-infused creams, patches, gels, and even roll-ons. These products are known for their ability to target specific areas by delivering CBD directly to the affected tissue. You should feel the benefits of topical CBD products within 1 hour of applying them but most individuals find they experience a “peak” of these effects after 24 hours of use. Can the duration of CBD’s effects differ between individuals? Yes, the duration of CBD’s effects can indeed vary between individuals. As you begin taking CBD, we recommend that you closely monitor how your body responds to different dosages and consumption methods. This will help you tailor your CBD regimen to meet your specific needs and preferences. How long does it take for CBD to have an effect? The time it takes to feel the effects of CBD generally depends on the type of CBD product you have taken and how long it takes for CBD to be absorbed into your system. Topical CBD products, such as CBD suppositories, tend to “kick in” sooner than oral CBD products, like CBD oil or gummies.

The Best CBD for Tooth Pain

The Best CBD for Tooth Pain

CBD is a pain reliever used to relieve some of the most common pains, including tooth pain. While research on CBD for tooth pain is limited, there are many unbiased studies with positive results. But then, how do you use CBD to relieve tooth pain? Here we answer all your questions, including what CBD products are best for your tooth pain.  Let’s get started! Does CBD provide pain relief? CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system that contains cells and receptors responsible for feelings, mood, appetite, and the immune system. Quite specifically, CBD interacts with CB1 and CB2 receptors to relieve pain.  We recommend only using CBD to temporarily relieve pain before seeking treatment from a medical practitioner.  Can CBD help with tooth pain? Tooth pain can be frustrating and will occur due to many reasons. Some people will have a toothache due to a cavity, decay, gum disease, or following a tooth surgical procedure. CBD can help relieve tooth pain, especially when applied to the affected area.  The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the most common cause of tooth pain. The condition causes pain whenever a patient tries to move their jaws. It’s often caused by misalignment of the upper and lower teeth. TMJ causes chronic pain. A Polish study in 2019, found that using CBD for tooth pain was very effective, which has led dentists worldwide to be in favour of this treatment method. The other significant use of CBD in oral health is the treatment of gum disease and inflammation. Periodontitis is a gum disease that makes your gums swollen and painful. With this infection, the gum retracts away from the teeth exposing them to infections. CBD acts as a disinfectant to kill germs.  You can also use CBD to relieve pain after a surgical operation. Oral surgical operations can be quite intrusive, and the pain afterwards can be unbearable. Ingesting CBD capsules or using CBD sublingually can fight pain, inflammation, or infections after dental surgery.  Applying CBD oil around an aching tooth can provide relief within 5-30 minutes of application. When picking a topical CBD product for tooth pain, always start with a product with low potency. Evaluate how the low dosage affects you, then increase the dosage as you progress and observe your symptoms.  Keep in mind that what works for one patient may not work for another. Some patients who are starting out will feel pain relief with the lowest doses, while experienced CBD users may need a more potent dose.  It’s important to note that CBD should not replace prescription pain relief medicines, and if you’re unsure, always consult your GP, pharmacist, or dentist.  Best CBD Oil for Tooth Pain We recommend using our CBD oil 600 mg or CBD oil 1200 mg for tooth pain. Use 2-4 drops of the oil under the tongue and hold it there for a few minutes before swallowing.  If you’re a beginner with CBD, start with the lower dosage of 600 mg before using the 1200 mg one, which is a stronger dose. When dealing with tooth pain, take CBD oil twice daily, in the morning and evening.  Best CBD for Tooth Nerve Pain Nerve pain can be throbbing and gets worse when you take extremely sugary, cold, or hot things. While you need to visit a dentist to treat and identify the root cause, CBD can temporarily relieve nerve pain.  When brushing your teeth, apply about 2 drops of CBD oil to the toothpaste. Brushing using CBD oil will offer localised pain relief. Once you’re done brushing, ensure to thoroughly clean your toothbrush using warm water to dislodge all the CBD oil from the bristles.  Alternatively, use our CBD gummies to relieve nerve pain. As you chew the gummies, the infused CBD will relieve the pain within a few minutes. It’s important to note that the gummies have sweet flavourings in case your nerve pain gets triggered by sugar.  Best CBD for Wisdom Tooth Pain You will know if you have wisdom tooth pain if you exhibit some or all of these symptoms. In most cases, the pain will go away once the wisdom teeth are out. You can take CBD oil to reduce the pain. As always, start with a lower dosage and progress to a higher one as you find out what works best for you. If you don’t have trouble chewing, you can boost your CBD intake with our gummies. Each gummy contains about 5 mg of CBD. If you’re taking them alongside CBD oil for tooth pain, you should only take one gummy a day to avoid an overdose.  If the pain persists even after the wisdom teeth are out, you may need to visit a dentist for surgery.  CBD Oil for Toothache According to the NHS, a tooth will ache due to decay, a dental abscess, a cracked tooth, a loose dental filling, an infection, or a problem with your braces. You can take pain relievers to relieve tooth pain, but if the pain persists for more than  2 days, you should visit a dentist.  CBD has proven effective in treating this pain. While you can take CBD capsules for toothache, they won’t offer fast relief. The best way to use CBD for toothache is to apply it to the gums or to add it to your toothbrush when brushing your teeth.  We recommend using our CBD drops 600 mg for toothache. Observe how you feel and increase your dosage to the CBD drops 1200 mg.  Supplement your CBD intake using Prym Health’s CBD gummies for tooth pain. Start with only one gum a day as you find out what works best for your pain.  CBD Gummies for Tooth Pain Tooth pain mainly happens due to inflammation of the pulp inside a tooth. The pain could be stinging, sharp, and unbearable. CBD gummies are known to have anti-inflammatory properties.  Prym Health’s CBD gummies contain 5 mg of CBD, and as you chew them, they will offer pain relief to the aching teeth. We recommend using only one gummy a day to start with and working your way up until

The Pros and Cons of CBD Oil for Anxiety

The Pros and Cons of CBD Oil for Anxiety

Anxiety is quite prevalent in the UK and a report released in 2022 by the Mental Health Organisation revealed that the high cost of living is partly to blame. Consequently, anxious and stressed employees miss work, which affects the labour market.  While research is still ongoing, CBD oil for anxiety is becoming quite popular, and user feedback has shown great results. In fact, people who travel a lot use CBD oil for flight anxiety.  CBD oil comes from hemp plants and is THC-free. THC is a main component in cannabis plants and it usually has an intoxicating effect on users. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can actually cause anxiety.  However, due to the lack of THC, CBD products in the UK typically improve feelings of anxiety and depression rather than cause them.  But how does CBD oil work? What are the pros and cons of CBD oil for anxiety?  Let’s find out! How Does CBD Oil Work? CBD works by interacting with receptors in your nervous system. Simply put, receptors are protein-based chemical structures usually attached to body cells. These receptors are responsible for your mood and feelings.  It is thought that CBD reacts with CB1 and CB2 receptors in your body, affecting serotonin levels. Now, serotonin is a neurotransmitter responsible for your mental health.  What Does CBD Oil Do For Anxiety? Low serotonin levels are the main cause of depression and anxiety. Medically, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used to treat anxiety.  While SSRIs are great treatments, they may have side effects such as dry mouth, diarrhoea, dizziness, loss of appetite, and agitation in the long run.  People have reported great results with CBD oil for anxiety. Studies have shown that CBD reduces general anxiety, social anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.  Is CBD effective for treating anxiety? A recent study revealed that CBD effectively treats anxiety at doses ranging between 300 to 600 mg. Another 2019 research by a research institute in Japan indicates that cannabidiol can reverse symptoms of anxiety. Specifically, the test was done on teenagers with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). Teenagers who underwent CBD treatment for anxiety showed a lot of improvement within 4 weeks.  Are There Downsides to CBD Oil? While more research regarding the long-term effects of CBD is still ongoing, CBD is considered safe. According to a World Health Organization report, CBD is generally well tolerated among patients.  Some of the reported side effects occur due to drug-to-drug interactions if a patient takes other prescription medications alongside CBD. CBD has been known to interact with drugs that treat blood clots, antihistamines, antidepressants, opioids, and antipsychotics. If you are on any of these medications, it’s crucial to consult your GP before taking CBD oil for anxiety. Intake of CBD in very high dosages is also linked to liver damage. This is especially dangerous if you’re on other medications because when the liver gets damaged, it affects how it metabolises other drugs.  Another common problem occurs if patients buy CBD that is adulterated. A recent study on 84 samples of CBD products sold online revealed that most sellers don’t sell quality products. Out of the samples, 70% had wrong labels, 40% had more CBD than indicated, 26% had less CBD content than labelled, and 20% of the samples had high THC content than advertised.  Low-quality CBD oil can cause downsides such as loss of appetite, drowsiness, dry mouth, diarrhoea, vomiting, headaches, hallucinations, seizures, confusion, and agitation.  At Prym Health, your health and safety are our top priorities. Our commitment is to maintain the same quality products that are non-GMO, vegan-friendly, and THC-free. All our products are lab-tested, and what we advertise is what you get.  How To Use CBD Oil For Anxiety Studies have shown that the best dosage of CBD oil for anxiety is between 40 milligrams to 300 milligrams a day. This huge difference in dosage requirements implies that different dosages work for different patients depending on their particular needs.  As a general rule of thumb, always start small and increase your dosage until you find what works best for you. If you are not sure about the correct dosage for your anxiety, consult a pharmacist or GP for guidance. A medical professional will also advise if you have other medications that could potentially interact with CBD.  It is also important to note that you shouldn’t ditch your prescribed medicines for CBD oil, and CBD shouldn’t be used as a treatment for a long-term anxiety condition.  How To Choose The Best CBD Oil for Anxiety Are you going through a situation that is giving you anxiety and panic attacks? CBD oil can help alleviate these feelings. But then, with so many CBD oils being sold online, choosing the best products can be daunting.  At Prym Health, we like to think of ourselves as your go-to for all CBD health supplements. We have two CBD oils that differ in strength, depending on what you need. Our 1200mg CBD oil drops are the stronger dose, while our 600mg CBD oil drops have a lower strength. Both products are made using CBD distillate, coconut MCT oil, and mint flavouring. They are also THC-free, vegan-friendly, and made using naturally obtained raw materials.  We recommend taking CBD oil twice daily, in the morning and in the evening. Usually, 2-4 drops of the oil are sufficient. However, if you want to take CBD oil for anxiety and find this occurs mostly during the day, you can take it only in the morning before you go about your daily activities.  If you’re a beginner, we recommend that you start with the lower dosage of 600mg and increase your strength with time. If you have any doubts regarding the strengths, don’t hesitate to consult your GP or pharmacist.  Round-Up: The Pros and Cons of CBD Oil for Anxiety Most people deal with anxiety at different levels. CBD can help you deal with anxiety if you take it in the right dosages. CBD for anxiety works by interacting with brain receptors that, in turn, increase serotonin levels in your body. Balanced serotonin levels improve your mood and feelings in general.  In summary,

Taking CBD for Flight Anxiety

Taking CBD for Flight Anxiety

Anxiety is very common when flying. Some people become anxious due to the fear of feeling confined thousands of altitudes above the ground. For others, it’s the thought of boarding the plane on time or not missing the connecting flights.  People with extreme stress and anxiety are often prescribed anxiety medications, while others use alcohol to calm their nerves. But, in the long run, these solutions are unsafe for the body. This is why anxious travellers are keen to explore other options, like taking CBD for flight anxiety. The legalisation of CBD in the UK in 2018 has become a game changer for most people dealing with flight anxiety. Although cannabidiol is sold as a food supplement in the UK, we cannot help but acknowledge its health benefits.  Does CBD really work for anxiety? Unlike THC, which is known to cause anxiety and other intoxicating effects, cannabidiol can actually relieve stress and anxiety. A study published by National Centre for Biotechnology Information indicates that patients suffering from anxiety who were under CBD medication had a 78.1% success rate in anxiety improvements.  CBD is known to have a calming effect when ingested. It also boosts mood and demeanour. With all the evidence that cannabidiol can help calm nerves, many people have used it to deal with stress and anxiety.   But how does CBD help to relieve stress and anxiety? Well, humans have an endocannabinoid system that already contains cannabinoids. CBD activates these cannabinoids by triggering receptors in your brain and body.  In effect, the body balances all body functions and processes, thus triggering stress-relieving functions in your body and brain.   Can CBD help with pre-flight stress? The anticipation of flying, or thinking about flying, is often as troubling as being on the flight itself.  At the pre-flight stage, your brain receives an impulse, which triggers unrest—causing stress that might last for the whole time you’ll be aboard. Taking CBD-infused products before your flight will calm your nerves and release the tension from your mind and body, giving you a stress-free experience. When should you take CBD before a flight? If you are prone to pre-flight stress, we recommend taking CBD products about 3 days before the flight to help your body process the reaction toward stress in advance. It’s also important to take CBD products on the day of the flight. Taking your choice of CBD product an hour before your flight is the perfect way to calm your nerves before the tedious process of checking in.  If you forget to take your CBD before, it’s also perfectly okay to take it at the airport or on the plane. You won’t get into trouble if you carry any CBD product on your carry-on or checked luggage since it’s categorised as a food supplement in the UK.  If you still feel anxious after the flight, start taking CBD three days after the travel. Continue taking your preferred CBD-infused product for another three days, then discontinue usage. In case you’re wondering…CBD is not addictive, so you don’t have to worry that you’ll become dependent.  Can you take CBD on a flight? You can take CBD on a flight to and from the UK. According to the UK government laws regarding consumption and regulation of CBD supply, the product is classified as a food supplement.  However, any CBD product sold in the country should contain not more than 1 milligram of THC. At Prym Health, we surpass these requirements by ensuring that our CBD products have 0% THC.  You can confidently carry Prym Health products and even take them on a flight because they meet all the requirements stipulated by the authorities.  However, when flying outside of the UK, you need to check the legality of CBD in the specific country because, in some countries, CBD products remain outlawed.  Can you travel with CBD Oil in hand luggage? When flying within the UK or to the UK, you can carry CBD oil in your hand luggage. If you’re flying internationally, you need to consider the laws regarding CBD in specific countries. Also, check the laws surrounding the use of CBD in countries where you may have stopovers.  Generally, you can carry your CBD oil to any European country if the THC concentration is no more than 0.2%. In some countries like the US and Canada, the accepted concentration is at most 0.3%. However, some states in the US still consider CBD illegal.  CBD oil being a liquid is treated like all other liquids you can carry in your hand luggage. First, it should be in a container holding at most 100 millilitres and displayed in a plastic bag. Long-term use of CBD

Long term use of CBD

CBD, or cannabidiol, is the second most famous compound of cannabis or hemp, only after THC. CBD has become a magic compound that can help with numerous health conditions with minimal side effects. Unlike THC, CBD is relatively safe because of its non-psychoactive nature. It is available in different delivery systems that work differently but aim to reach the ECS receptors present all across the body to help it perform better. CBD is a true game changer when it comes to fixing the physiological functions of the human body. It is an essential active cannabinoid of Cannabis Sativa or Industrial Hemp. Research has shown it possesses an incredible ability to help our body under stress or anxiety. As the importance and knowledge of health and wellbeing has grown over the years, long term use of CBD has also become common. Here is everything we need to know about it.  What are the long-term effects of CBD? The medical community of CBD has accepted the potential and use of CBD for chronic health issues such as Lennox-gastrula syndrome and Dravet syndrome. It has led to a greater trust in the cannabinoid and its increased usage. With several years of patient data and clinical trial programs, Epidiolex has proven to be an effective CBD-based medicine for epileptic seizures. However, for CBD based medications to become common, more studies are required.  In 2020, a study was conducted offering CBD lifelong exposure data. C elegan nematode, or commonly known as a roundworms, were used in this study (1). It is a common species often used to check the effects of many drugs as it has several ancestral genes to humans and in this case, it was exposed to a variety of CBD dosages. As the study proceeded, it was shown that none of the subjects under study died during the experiment. It also showed that in old age, there is a 206% increase in activity meaning that CBD can possibly reduce age-related motility. The study gives a good indication that there may not be any long-term side effects of CBD. More accurate claims can only be made if such studies are conducted on human specimens.  What are the adverse side effects of CBD oil?  One of the best things about CBD is that it comes with minimal side effects. It is safe and does not cause any serious adverse effects in most users. It is safe for both short and long-term use. Most people experience temporary fatigue, nausea and drowsiness when they start using CBD, but these side effects usually subside on their own. Since CBD self-administration is becoming quite popular, there is a risk of additional adverse effects.    Drowsiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea and raised serum aminotransferases are the most common side effects of short-term use (2). Although it is rare, using CBD for a long period can lead to memory loss, slow reaction time, and changes in mood, such as irritability, therefore as with all supplements, it is important to take this under the supervision of a medical professional.  The Food Standards Agency suggests that CBD use should be stopped if one is pregnant, especially if over the counter medication is being used (3). It is also suggested that healthy individuals should avoid exceeding daily CBD dose above 70mg.  One of the most important things to remember when using CBD oil does not always work very well with some over-the-counter medicines. Its use with medicines such as opioids, benzodiazepines, antipsychotics, antidepressants and antihistamines may cause hepatotoxicity. It hinders the metabolic activity required to break down these medicines and can lead to liver dysfunction.  What happens when you stop taking CBD oil?   While traditional cannabis can lead to addiction, CBD is quite different. CBD does not have any psychotropic effects that could lead to dependency. It does not have any abuse potential and causes minimal side effects. In fact, research has shown CBD can mitigate the effects of addiction. Preclinical studies suggest that CBD possess therapeutic properties against cocaine, opioid and NSAIDs (4).  CBD withdrawal symptoms are quite different from the symptoms of other psychoactive compounds. If you have decided to quit using CBD after a long time, the most prominent effect is the absence of positive effects. CBD interacts with the body in the most mild and non-invasive way, which is why users’ bodies will not be alarmed by the sudden absence. The World Health Organisation have stated that CBD is well-tolerated and has an excellent safety profile. There is no evidence of health-related issues or withdrawal symptoms of CBD (5).  It should be noted that when you stop using CBD, your body will take time to fully adjust to the new change, depending on the tolerance level and extent of CBD usage.  How long does it take to gain effects from CBD oil?  Every time we introduce our body to something new, it changes and expresses it in the form of positive and negative effects. The time required to produce these changes depends on a number of factors, like body chemistry and dosage. Everyone’s body reacts to the stimuli differently, so the experience also varies. The first 2 weeks of CBD intake may cause symptoms like fatigue and diarrhea, which usually settle on its own.  People expect instant results and think that CBD starts to show its effects immediately after intake; however, that’s not the case. CBD oil takes time to get to the bloodstream and then react with the endocannabinoid receptors (6). New CBD users may have to wait for several weeks to experience the effects of CBD oil. The process requires patience and commitment, as you may feel the same for months.  It usually takes one to three weeks of regular CBD dose to produce a significant difference. It would be best to figure out the correct dose and continue with it for a few weeks before thinking CBD is not practical.  What health benefits does a daily CBD oil regimen have?  Increased Focus  One of the most popular
