What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is a carrier oil, typically MCT oil or hemp seed oil, that contains CBD extract. Also known as cannabidiol, CBD is the second most prevalent active ingredient in hemp plants (cannabis) and is known for many health benefits. Unlike traditional cannabis products, CBD does not contain THC, which is the compound that gets cannabis users high. CBD products in the UK are typically free of THC, or have such a low amount to comply with UK laws that you won’t experience any psychoactive side effects.

CBD oil is one of the most popular methods of taking CBD products because it is fast-acting, versatile and allows for flexible doses.

What is the main benefit of CBD oil?

The main benefit of CBD oil is that you can experience the health and wellness benefits of hemp plants without the high usually associated with cannabis. Taking CBD oil has many benefits, including:

What are the side effects of CBD oil drops?

CBD oil has many positive side effects, such as improved mood and reduced anxiety, which can help you unwind towards the end of the day and also benefit your quality of sleep. Recent studies have also shown that CBD has proven effective in reducing localised pain and inflammation and helped control addictive behaviours, such as substance abuse.

In the UK, there are very few negative side effects of CBD oil drops because the law requires manufacturers to keep THC levels below 0.2%. However, some studies have found that patients with other health conditions, or those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medication may experience some negative side effects. If any of these apply to you, or you are unsure if taking CBD oil is safe for you, we recommend consulting your GP before taking any CBD products.

Which CBD oil drops should I start with?

Within our CBD range, we offer 600mg CBD oil and 1200mg CBD oil. We recommend you start with the lowest dose of our 600mg drops and work through the recommended doses and strengths to find the best one for your needs.

How do you take CBD oil drops?

CBD drops are easy to take, especially if they come with a handy oil dropper (like ours!). All you need to do is fill the pipette with the desired dosage, squeeze the dropper under your tongue and hold it there for 90 seconds before swallowing.

When should I take CBD oil?

You can take natural CBD oil at any time in the day, provided you follow the instructions correctly for dosage. That includes ensuring you have trialled and found the correct dosage for yourself. For generalised CBD benefits, we recommend taking CBD oil twice per day, once in the morning and once before you go to bed. If you are taking CBD oil to improve your sleep quality, you may find it best to place the drops under your tongue 1-2 hours before your desired bedtime to allow it time to “kick in”.

How many drops of CBD oil should I take?

We recommend taking 2-4 drops of CBD oil up to two times per day. If you are new to taking CBD oil, start out with 2 drops and increase to 4 if needed to find your desired dosage. If you find 4 drops of 600mg CBD oil isn’t having the desired effects, try upping the strength to 1200mg CBD oil drops and starting again at 2 drops until you find a suitable dose.

Can you drink water after taking CBD oil?

You can drink water after taking CBD oil, however, we recommend you wait at least 60 seconds after taking CBD oil under your tongue. This allows the oil time to properly absorb and prevents you from diluting the dose.

Can I take CBD oil with medication?

Although we feel this is the best CBD oil and therefore is considered safe to use, we always recommend discussing CBD with your doctor or pharmacist to be on the safe side. We recommend this in the same way we would recommend you consult a doctor before taking any new supplements in your diet.

Is CBD legal in the UK?

Yes, CBD is legal in the UK as long it is sold in line with the guidelines and regulations set out by UK Law. These guidelines include ensuring THC levels remain below 0.2%. To ensure we meet this requirement, all of our CBD products contain 0% THC.

CBD is a novel food, so you can check out accredited brands on the Food Standards Agency website to be sure you are buying from a reputable source.

Will CBD oil get me high?

Licensed and legal CBD Oil in the UK will not get you high because they do not contain THC (or contain very small traces), which is the compound that provides the ‘high’ in cannabis.

Is CBD oil vegan?

Our premium CBD oil is vegan and contains all-natural ingredients. With the exception of our CBD multivitamin gummies, which are vegetarian-friendly, all of our CBD products are vegan-friendly. Prym Health CBD products are also halal-friendly, palm-oil free and third-party tested.
